Girona are set to strengthen their attack with Watford youngster Yaser Asprilla heading to Spain to undergo a medical ahead of a €20m move.

A number of clubs were interested in the 20-year-old but he has opted instead to join Spanish side Girona.

Girona have identified Asprilla as a potential replacement for Savinho, who has now joined Manchester City.

They have agreed a deal with Watford to sign the Colombian for a fee believed to be in the region of €20m and are now undergoing a medical.

He linked up with Watford at their summer training camp in July under the then head coach Rob Edwards.

The midfielder made 39 appearances in that first season under three different managers: Edwards, Slaven Bilic and Chris Wilder.
